No mans land! Literally nothing for hundreds of kilometers save for a few desolate houses here and there and the ever present dogs! Chasing you even on the auto pista!!! Dam them!!
The road was more of the same some nasty uphills but also some pretty fun downhills my cycle computer said I had reached 67 kph and Mach1 of 700 kph as the manual said the accuracy is slightly less! ;)
Anything above 60 with all that gear attached to the bike is pretty scary things are unstable and breaks well they don't stop anything at theses speeds! Concentrated downhills to avoid glass or just a bad move and Blam! It would be nasty to fall.
My Chilean family had told me to look at where the truck stop for food as those would be the good places, but here on this stretch of road there was nothing at all.
Then out of the blue an oasis a small little cafeteria I pulled over as I was hungry and thirsty I had breakfeast and plenty of water but I wanted to stop for a bit not knowing when the next stop would be, something like 100km perhaps.
I ordered two large sandwiches and a litter of coke, the soccer was on the tv chile vs the Netherlands in which chile lost 2-0 shame.
Filled up with water just in case and headed off.
Serena is still 100 km away and I want to start early to get there at about 2 pm and take a nice shower and refill on supplies.
