In bound flight to Santiago!

Landing  LeatherAfter a relentless evening that kept digging into the wee hours of the morning, driven mostly by my conciseness to leave the house as clean as possible I scrubbed every surface and discarded anything I did not need to keep. The day before Damien my cousin's husband who also happens to live in Cork had stopped by to pick up a fair number of my things, which by all account weren't so voluminous as we only needed one trip in a passat.

Still I was looking at the clock very closely as we needed to get going for the bus to Dublin airport at 5 am and it was already coming on two! Thats when I decided okay stop your exhausted get a few zzzz and then your off, you've done what you could... Packed up made the dinner cleaned recycled etc, oh and if you could only find a nice girl to help wouldn't that be better, sniffed my arm Pitts and thought no that's not the reason why they smelled okay.

So the alarm kept on complaining and I kept on hitting the snooze button then a knock on the door! Crap 5:15 already Drank coffee as quickly as I could shaved brushed my teeth, got dressed and we rushed off in my landlords van to the bus stop made it in time just!

Dublin airport and Air Canada! Arrived with more then 3 hours to get things sorted the bike and the luggage -- I was glad I did.

The airport was not ready for me my box was huge and I was the attraction of the moment.

Had to get everything wrapped in plastic then pay for the extra luggage and the bike was fully assembled so it was a big box and it wouldn't fit in the X-ray machine! The lady wanted me to open the box telling me you've got a problem if we can't get this box open, the problem was that I didn't have any tape to close it again so we found tape I showed here the bike she was happy then closed the box again and the airport then told me we needed to find a luggage handler for the bike 2 hours passed I was getting anxious and pissed off at the same time! I even applied for the position which made the lady laugh saying might as well make a buck while you wait! And wait we did, then at the last possible moment a little scrawny man showed up and my box dwarfed him, I wasn't sure how he was going to handle my bike but any was it was time at last to get on the flight to Toronto!

Everything in Toronto went okay managed to get the bus down town to pick up the son28 Dynamo which is very nice! And also very expensive, saw a little of the city which was buzzing they were getting ready for some sort of party streets were closed off and speakers out... Not sure what was going on. It was also much hotter then what I'm used to in Cork.
On the return return trip to the airport there was this English family and the little Girl said some thing that made us all smile she said this looks a lot like Canada! She must of been about three.

Time to get ready to take the flight to Santiago, I had concerns about my newly purchased gear would they allow me to take it on board? I asked the security people about my spanner and they said yes that's okay it turns out that they were more concerned about the tent  and the pegs then anything else no one had given me grief until now, but they opened my bag and had a look. We then discussed as to why I had a tent were I was going they were impressed.

The waiting room for the flight well more like the waiting floor big open spaces  leather seats and iPads free to use while you waited very nice. I also had a cheese burger and a Corinna and watch the Stanley cup finals what could be a better way to wait for a plane....

We boarded the huge 747 all 20 of us the plane is empty! So plenty of comfort and the crew is very nice.

The flight there was a night flight which meant we would arrive in the morning and considering the first class services he girls were doi g it was plesent extra blankets for those that needed it and I must of been shivering as they kept on mentioning it come breakfast.
The landing was something a bit special snow topped mountains that appeared out of no where  something g straight out of a sim city game. Then time to say good byes to the crew and get the gear, umm would it get past customs in Chilli?
I was lucky not to have to pay an entrance fee this was dependent on the passport you held and mi e was not on the list the girl stamped my passport without any questions, good!
