What can I say I love this city! Surrounded by its magnetic mountains topped with white caps it's gorgeous!
I will included a few pics I took with my phone I guess I'll have to do so for now because I can't seem to find an iPad card reader must of been to 10 different stores but they don't carry the readers no bother I'll work around the problem and post high rez later.
Back to Santiago, it's a mixture of uncertainty all of the stores and homes are on high alert for theft police everywhere, they do not seem to be corrupt and are inclined to do their job.
People work hard here for little pay but the city is buzzing missile buses as I call them cause they drive so dam fast zoom arou d the city in dedicated kamikaze lanes which are also shared with bikes but it's a bit mutes to ride there unless you have a death wish.
There are some pretty nice bike lanes and a lot of people use them funny enough most people have really nice bikes which I did not expect good I feel better that not all the attention will be one mine.
I did have a few oh that's a nice ride! And it is, I try my best to answer in Spanish but I haven't learned it completely yet! Just glad I was paying attention in sign language class it's coming in usefull :)
Today the 15th of hue all of the stores are closed so I figured might as well do a little site seeing, I hope on the bike and just followed others around the city as a sort of free guided tour and sure enough a lot of them were going to the park so I followed and boy was it worth it! An uphill ride and voila perfect view of the city. We don't have this in Cork!
On the way up there were all kinds of people but they were all making an effort to be active which was nice to see and all very happy to be enjoying a perfectly good Sunday.
More importantly a lovely girl blew a kiss my way! Must of been the red gloves, I purred back and skilled, thinking should I stop what would I say I know three words in Spanish maybe that's enought...
Enjoyed the views and looked at the time, 17:00 time to head back shower at the hotel and get dinner. The ride back would be fun a nice downhill.
Not even 10 meters down that BAM! Bike accident this girl lost control on sand and biffed hard, so much so that two motor cycle cops showed up to help the bike was dead but she seemed okay someone help move the bike out of the way and lucky she had a helmet and joint protectors on.
The ride back was way fun big time speeds faster then the cars could handle on the windy roads and it was nice to be able to over take them for a change!
Dinner was a BK triple supper delux about 20000 calories but everyone of them counts right now, and since it's the soccer world cup might as well watch a bit of it, to if anything g improve my Spanish.
Tomorrow will be a bike maintenance day wheel rebuild and then off to finally meet my host in Santiago, so no mor hotel for now.
