The road to take to get to Antofagasta is route 1 and not the middle road that is the B-170 there is Nothing and I mean Nothing from paposo to Antofagasta and the goo g is ver ver hard it's all uphill and step the desert sun does not help at all.
Truth be told I didn't make it after30 km of solid uphills and no relieve in sight I was running out of water I had one litter left!!! And a sun stock after a horrible night were there wild donkeys and four foxes bothered me the entire time, I moved the tent two kilometers away from the donkeys but they came back!!
Looking at the map I had another 20 km to Paranal and there was an aerodrome I figured that there would be water and snacks there well there isn't there is nothing at all just a landing strip!!!
So I set up the tent after just resting in the hot desert sun and went to the road to see I I could have one of the truckers give me water.
Turned out that one of them stopped and offered a ride all the way to Antofagasta !!!! Wow lucky me!!!
I saw that the desert was none stop and that it was uphill the entire way I would of never made it!!!!!
Once in the city I checked into the hotel after thanking the driver and his son!
First things first a nice shower after I don't know how many days but my face had so much salt on it from the day in the desert that it hurt.
Eat and sleep!
